A dual national (American by birth, Swiss by marriage), Gail Mangold-Vine is based in Geneva where she writes mainly about Switzerland, art and culture, wellbeing, travel, food and wine.

Her articles have appeared in publications as diverse as the US-based Christian Science Monitor, Dance Magazine, and Culture: The Word on Cheese; the magazine of the Australian Automobile Association; and the Qatar Airways in-flight magazine Oryx.

She is the author of two books: Touring Geneva Wine Country: The Only Guide to Geneva's Countryside, which has gone into a second updated version in English and a French translation (Editions Slatkine, Geneva, 2006), and Coaching: The Stories of 12 Life and Leadership Coaches Working in Switzerland.

Her work as a food and wine writer includes selecting Geneva's best restaurants for Europe's Top Restaurants -- as of the 2011 edition, the World's Top Restaurants -- for Zagat Survey, New York, and radio show stints. Food and travel bylines in 2011 include chapters in Fodor's Switzerland, 46th edition (Random House, New York) and Ultimate Food Journeys/The World on a Plate (Dorling Kindersley, London).

She has also adapted many books from the French and German into English. Credits include art books like the catalogues raisonnés of prints and illustrated books by Picasso, Miró and other artists; Chinoiserie for Vendome Press/Sotheby Publications in New York; and most recently Geneva: Landscapes and Villages.

The daughter of a US diplomat, she grew up around the world attending schools in various countries (and languages) before earning a BA in art history and literature from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. After graduation, she immediately began writing about art for a New York magazine, then for the International Herald Tribune. By her late 20s, she was a director of a major auction house in Zurich, and later CEO of a Lausanne firm before forming her own company, CFS Communication, in Geneva in 2000.

Wearing her CFS (Content, Form and Style) hat, she created and is the editor of Terrific Terroir Magazine, now in its 11th year.

A contributor to Suite 101 since August 2009, Gail Mangold-Vine has won the following Editor's Choice Awards:
